DENVER, CO – (January 2020) Cooking Matters Colorado (CMCO) is very pleased to announce Bohemian Foundation’s $5,000 grant to support programming in Larimer County. CMCO has an 8-year history of serving residents in Larimer County.
CMCO focuses on achieving sustainable individual and systems change to improve policies, systems and environments that impact families’ economic stability and health.
According to Census Data, nearly 38,000 Larimer County residents live in poverty. Inadequate access to nutritious foods contributes to health disparities and negatively impacts early childhood development. With nearly 22% of Larimer County children living in food-insecure households, this is a critical issue to address. According to Map the Meal Gap ‘19, about 40,000 Larimer County residents (almost 9,000 children) may not know where their next meal is coming from.
Thanks to the support of Bohemian Foundation, CMCO will be able to serve 143 residents of Larimer County; providing over 3,429 meals to families in need.
CMCO is grateful for the support from Bohemian Foundation and looks forward to continuing to serve residents of Larimer County with the help of this grant.
