Community Engagement Events

Cooking Matters’ community engagement events are an opportunity for organizations, volunteers, and participants to learn more about, and benefit from, Cooking Matters programming and resources.

Share Our Strength offers free educational tools for public use that build on the proven success of our six-week cooking courses and interactive grocery store tours. Organizations and volunteers can download our free education outreach toolkits and facilitate their own one-time events in the community. Visit the national Cooking Matters site for downloads and more information.

Occasionally, Cooking Matters can coordinate one-time educational events that include Cooking Matters at the Store tours, healthy cooking workshops, food and nutrition demos, and participation in health and neighborhood fairs. If you're interested in offering an educational event, please contact Casondra Webb-Cole at cwebb-cole@strength.org for eligibility.

Whether through our self-directed educational toolkits or Cooking Matters led activities, one-time events can be a way to reach significantly more families with knowledge and skills, increase our volunteer engagement, and build relationships in the community.
