Driven by a dedication to engage people around a common purpose of sustainably feeding people, James has contributed his leadership, vision and strategic guidance to Share Our Strength Colorado since 2010. James serves in numerous roles, namely as Vice Chair and Chair of the Leadership Council (2015-2019). James has also led the planning and development of Chefs Up Front, an annual culinary extravaganza to support Cooking Matters, a program of Share Our Strength, raising over one million dollars in eight years!
Recognized as the 2016 EY Entrepreneur of the Year; James is a National Fisheries Institute Future Leaders graduate and serves in leadership roles for several non-profit organizations in the Colorado, including, Colorado Children's Chorale, ACE Scholarships and the CSU Green & Gold Foundation. James brings to his professional and philanthropic roles, expertise in project planning, finance and budgeting, teaching/coaching, and editing. A graduate of Colorado State University, James received a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
James is passionate about sustainably feeding people and having a positive impact on the community and the planet, believing in “the right for everyone to have access to nutritious food and the knowledge necessary to make good decisions around food, health, and nutrition.” James enjoys time with his wife Meghan, golfing, sailing and playing the guitar. When cooking, James can be found preparing a healthy and delicious recipe of baked Scottish salmon – of course, sustainably sourced from Seattle Fish Company!
