“Food is...life”

Jennifer is a mom to a free spirited 6-year-old daughter, a Commercial Food Photographer, and a lover of food.  Her connections to the food world run deep.  Jennifer worked in the front of the house in restaurants for 13 years, managing at some notable Denver restaurants such as Panzano and Rioja. While working in restaurants, she gained a love of fresh food cooked with heart.  She began cooking more at home and now enjoys cooking for family and friends whenever possible.

In 2006, her decision to leave restaurants to pursue her true passion of photography led her to create her first Cookbook, Colorado Organic, Cooking Seasonally, Eating Locally.  Colorado Organic focuses on Colorado Chefs who work with Colorado Farmers to bring fresh, seasonal food to the tables of some of the State’s most prestigious restaurants.  Her connections with the food community were fortified while working on her book and she gained intimate knowledge from the farmers and chefs involved. The book was independently published in 2009 and lauded many accolades from some of the top publications in the state.  The book kicked off her new-found career in Food Photography where she successfully blended her love for food with her love for photography and hasn’t looked back since.

In college, Jennifer worked with CoPIRG and WashPIRG, and back in Colorado she works with Slow Food Denver and Slow Food Nations, providing photography for various programs and events. In 2017, she got to meet and photograph two of her biggest influences, Alice Waters and Carlo Petrini at the Slow Food Nations event in Denver.  Her clients include Noosa Yoghurt, 34˙ Crackers, Starbucks and 5280 Magazine to name a few.

Being a solo entrepreneur has afforded her the time to spend with her daughter, cooking, riding bikes and skiing.  Naturally, when the opportunity came up to be on the Leadership Council for Share Our Strength Colorado, she was eager to dive right in. Jennifer sits on the Programs Committee where they are developing an Ambassador Program for Cooking Matters Colorado.
