Food is...” Family”

Ever since Lucy can remember, food and family has been her passion. Inspired by her Armenian parents who were exceptional cooks and restaurant owners, their thirty years of running a family food business influenced Lucy to pursue a career in the food industry.

The family restaurant first originated in New Jersey and when Lucy’s father decided to move west, he relocated his family to Colorado, building a prosperous Italian restaurant in Englewood. Surrounded by great food, Lucy received the best hands-on education and training in food service and restaurant business management. Lucy’s extensive experience has been recognized by Sysco Foods who have presented her with several awards for providing business consulting to local restaurants and business owners.

With a solid appreciation for education, Lucy’s was drawn to the opportunity of supporting Cooking Matters because the organization teaches people how to use resources - believing education is key. For many years, Lucy volunteered behind the scenes, offering her culinary expertise to the Chef’s Up Front event. Now serving on the Leadership Council, Lucy is excited to assume a leadership role to advance this signature fundraising event for Cooking Matters.

In the great outdoors, Lucy can be found enjoying camping and hunting for chanterelle mushrooms - a delicacy she incorporates in her cooking, especially her favorite pizza recipe. Lucy’s love of food and travel has led her on explorations throughout the US and France searching for the best restaurants, cheeses and desserts - “I love food - this is an adventure in itself!”
